I've been a big fan of Drupal for a while now. It's has a large
community, has a clean separation between content, design, and logic,
and it has many, many add-ons to fit your needs. It does, however, have
a somewhat larger learning curve because of its flexibility and power,
so it might not be right for this.
The thing about Joomla I didn't like was its core files did not have a
table-less layout and the XHTML didn't validate. This was a while back,
so that may have changed.
I agree with Hardy that Wordpress is probably what you're looking for.
It's pretty simple and does what it does well.
And I would stay away from PHP-Nuke, like Hardy said, it has a bad
reputation on the security front.

I am wanting something that teachers can make their pages on the website
with that is easy to learn and use. Most will not want to have to learn
anything complicated. I just want them to be able to go to their
webpage
on our website and edit it.
Right now they have moved our website to blogspot so that the teachers
can
do this. I would like to get it back locally on our servers and still
be
able to let them edit it easily.
Thanks.

Question: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation.
Answer: Why is putting a reply at the top of the message frowned upon?
