I am using gparted to move and resize partitions. There are two HDDs in a
"software RAID" (RAID 1) kind of setup. I see /dev/sda and /dev/sdb,
which are identical and I assume those are the two disks. So I tried
first to do the resizing on SDA, then on SDB but I had the same errors for
both. It starts out like this:
calibrate /dev/sdb3 00:00 ( SUCCES )
path: /dev/sdb3
start: 31262490
end: 976768064
size: 945505575 (450.85 GiB)
calculate new size and position of /dev/sdb3 00:00 ( SUCCES )
requested start: 72228240
requested end: 976768064
requested size: 904539825 (431.32 GiB)
new start: 72228240
new end: 976768064
new size: 904539825 (431.32 GiB)
I see that I have "SUCCES" both times which is almost "SUCCESS", so I'm
feeling pretty good, but this is what I see next:
check filesystem on /dev/sdb3 for errors and (if possible) fix them 00:00 ( ERROR )
e2fsck -f -y -v /dev/sdb3
Filesystem mounted or opened exclusively by another program?
e2fsck 1.40.2 (12-Jul-2007)
e2fsck: Device or resource busy while trying to open /dev/sdb3
I'm wondering if this error is due to the software RAID. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Mike
