I have my servers here at school running Samba and all my workstations are
WinXP or Win98. I am thinking about putting a Linux client in the mix
just to do some playing with it. I have never actually done much with the
client side and everything has always been on the server side.
Here is my question. The servers that I have are running samba as a
domain and the Windows users authenticate by LDAP on the servers. Can I
actually have the linux client hook up with my Samba domain also? If so
then I was wanting to possibly get Wine running and try to use it to run a
couple of my network programs.
If I can do this then I would need to map a drive let like in Windows to
the share so that the program could run and find the data. Is this
possible or am I shooting at something that cannot be hit. :)
Thanks for any info.
