This is definitely good news, although I was kind of expecting it.
Adobe has clearly decided that they are in the content creation tool
business, which means they really want their formats to be free and de
facto standards that nobody would bother to try and supercede.
Those of us who are really old can appreciate how far they have come
since the font hint locking nonsense of the early 90s.
