Personalized Computers I believe went out of business, at least the store they were in is empty.

I mail ordered my USB - serial adapter (laptop doesn't have a serial port). I wasn't in a big hurry, so I didn't spend much time looking locally, but have you tried Personalized or PC Avenue yet?

I went to Staples and left empty-handed because they wanted $30 for a
USB hub and $40 for a USB-RS232 adapter.

In other cities I've lived in, there were computer shops, always run
by a immigrant family, that would sell you parts for pennies above
wholesale. Does Columbia have one of these?

WalMart had a hub for $10, but they don't sell an RS232 adapterâ

Even Radio Shack is cheaper, but they don't stock the serial adapter.
