I've been messing around with highlight and I'm liking it. Two cool
things about it: (1) the syntax color definition files are easy to edit
and (2) it uses stylesheets for highlighting html, so you can easily
edit page colors by editing the stylesheet. Example:
default:
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/bw.html
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/highlight.css
with edited stylesheet:
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/bw_black.html
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/highlight_black.css
So one good way to use the program is to use default colors, but edit
stylesheets, then rename and save stylesheets for later uses.
As an example, I ran an httpd.conf file through highlight (it has an
apache conf module) and then used the same two stylesheets that I used for
the HTML file in the example above:
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/highlight.css
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/highlight_black.css
As you can see, the result is pretty decent.
