Hi,
I got my macbook back from apple. (new disk, and new battery. bonus!)
I've used OS X for a year. I tried really hard to like it, but I'm
ready to switch to Ubuntu.
Looking at the tutorials and wiki pages, it seems like Ubuntu will
work fine, but needs some help booting. The instructions always
involve the use of an Apple product called Bootcamp. However I don't
have bootcamp. It's included in the latest OS X (10.5), and there was
a beta for my OS X (10.4) but Apple doesn't offer it on their website
anymore. I'm not inclined to spend $$$ on an upgrade that I'm not
planning to use.
Has anyone done this? Suggestions? Alternately, anyone interested in
swapping for a decent quality portable laptop, X-series ThinkPad or
similar?
