Apparently, the Windows program I was using is storing a .avi file and a
.scn file (scene file) where the .avi file holds the video and audio and
the scene file holds the metadata (time stamps for sections of the video,
I guess).
Maybe it would be better to store .dv instead, but I think the .avi and
.scn together have all of the information of the original .dv. I had told
Pinnacle Studio to use DV format (the default) and it still gave me this
AVI/SCN. Maybe it is possible to convert back to .dv if I had a reason to
do so.
