A friend asked me the following question. While I have ideas (primarily bookmarking this search, and seeing if Firefox will do something like automatically viasit the bookmark on a scheduled basis and spit the result page out), I'm sure some here have better ideas. Thanks in advance!

"Do you know any programs that run automated web searches? For example,
let's say I want to run the following Google search every morning at
2am:
china OR PRC OR beijing -hu-jintao site:
www.nytimes.com inurl:2007/12
I
know about RSS feeds, but I don't think they will meet my needs. What
I imagine is something that would basically run like a chron page into
which a user could enter a search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc.) and a
query string. The program would run a search on the string at the
selected time, then spit out a search result page in HTML, TXT or some
other common format. Do you know of anything like that?"
