It usually takes me like two minutes to install DVD support into Fedora after I do the install. Not hard at all. Now if rental DVDs weren't always scratched and dirty I could make myself good copies. :p Anymore it's usually easier to just download someone else's rip.

Most of the Linux DVD playing applications (Kaffeine, Xine, Totem, etc.)
are mede to have libdvdcss as an optional dependency. What you will need
to do is simply get a hold of a copy of libdvdcss either as source or as
a package built for your particular distribution- Google is your friend
here. Certain distros have non-US repositories that will automatically
install it when you install a movie app. Livna is one for Fedora;
Packman has them for SUSE, some of the Automatix repos will do the same
for a Debian-based distro. Gentoo does everything by source and as such,
if you call for libdvdcss in Portage, it'll download it for you and
build it.

I hope that helps.
