The server install is a stripped-down version of Ubuntu. From what I
can tell all the other Ubuntu's are derivatives of the server install.
For example, installing desktop Edubuntu is equivalent to installing
server Ubuntu and then running 'apt-get install edubuntu-desktop'.
Same works for Kubuntu, Ubuntu, and a few others. Type 'apt-cache
search "buntu-desktop" for the latest list.
So, if you want a LAMP with your desktop Ubuntu, you can install
server Ubuntu, choose LAMP, and then run 'apt-get install
ubuntu-desktop' to get the desktop.
Good luck and let us know how things go.
Regards,
- Robert
