Fyi, my current workstation (the one I'm typing this email on), is a
dual-cpu P4 with 4g of ram running Ubuntu Feisty (switched from RHEL 4
when I had a drive croak). Running CompizFusion, + 3 multi-tabbed
Firefox session, VMware, Evolution, and various putty/ssh sessions works
just fine. I will occasionally run the memory into the ground if I start
up enough VMware sessions.

I run VMware 6.0 with usually 2 or so session running for various
reasons and it works great. VMware is a very flexible solution, but I
confess I have not spent adequate time researching Xen. If all they will
need is IE, then I'd probably suggest Wine or dropping a couple bucks on
Crossover just to remove the cost of maintaining a Windows install
(definitely with VMware, believe it would also be required with Xen).

I've bought Crossover a couple times, and it has always worked great.
