How much were you making per hour?
Not nearly enough to make a career out of it, but I made enough to pay
for my initial expenditure of the game and the monthly fees and had a
nice tidy little sum to take my wife out to dinner on.
I was a casual player though, there are literally companies out there
now that have made it their business to have banks of people in India
and Korea play characters 24 hours per day and then sell those
characters to people who do not want to start from the beginning. In the
first Everquest, it took many hours of game time playing to get to a
point where you could play with people who were at the upper levels.
Since there were very few people playing at those lower levels anymore,
most people starting out had these companies level their characters for
them and then they would start playing at a higher level.

This company levels from level 1 - 75 for $853, it takes them 30 days to
do it, but they are not doing one character at a time either.
Very interesting, Vern. That makes perfect sense. It's amazing how the
internet makes it possible for anyone in the world to do work for anyone
else as long as it is computer software-related work.
