I'm envisioning something along the lines of a fairly simple web page
(donation form, where the machines went, etc...), possibly someone
contacting local businesses, and a few people scavenging/installing. I
don't think it would take much effort and I know for a fact I have at
least a full machine or two laying around that I'd donate to a family
that didn't have one.

It doesn't take much to build a nice little web browsing/email machine
that a kid could use to research homework with and, even though it
wouldn't be much of a game machine, I know edubuntu comes a bunch of
low-impact educational games.

I just kind of assumed that this is the type of project someone else had
already started in this area. But, if not, I'll start putting it
together.

breakfast noir:
..."Without thinking, I crammed that deadly sliver of metal carrying the
city's most infamous breakfast food into my maw. The tiny flakes snapped
and popped, like the fingers of a mob snitch after they found 'im. It
wasn't good cereal. But it was better than a gut fulla led."
