I'm working on a Linux-based bicycle computer this month. It's a fun

That is really cool-looking stuff. So you are working for Quarq now?
Employee? Consultant? Or did you start this company? It's pretty
amazing that your code is open source.
Just a consulting gig. I wouldn't think that the intersection of "Linux
nerds" and "serious athletes" is a very large set, but the open source
angle has received a lot of attention.
One cool thing about that is all you need is one attention-loving Linux
nerd to develop an enhanced version of the software and that will help
them to sell devices.
It looks like a good product if it doesn't cost too much, but it has to
be fairly pricey with the GPS and all.
The pricing hasn't been announced yet, but it's going to be competitive
with the other power meters out there.
Spearfish, SD is a beautiful place. Of course, I'm spending ten hours a
day in front of a computer screen.
I've been there. Stayed overnight back in 2003. The little motel I was
in had free WiFi -- I was very impressed. The Chinese restaurant in the
strip mall wasn't bad either. It's funny when you find a nice big hotel
with no internet and a little POS motel with either nice wifi or ethernet
(Greybull, WY, the next night, actually). Funny that I remember the towns
and internet connectivity from 4 years ago! This is where we went between
Spearfish and Greybull:
