uhm...Mike? Where you been? =)

Unfortunately, OOXML is neither from Open Office, nor open in any real sense of the word. It's proprietary with a thin veneer of openness to allow MS to continue their attempts of monopolizing document standards. Use of OOXML (i.e., translators, etc...) require licensing from MS.
