I downloaded fedora 7 rescue cd. I think I will see what it has in it
and see if I can use it. If not I think I will move to CentOS because
of the longer support factor.

Looking on the Centos5 distro I've got here, there's still a 'Base'
group, but it's marked as not being user visible. I bet that you could
hack it into a kickstart file on a floppy or USB stick and get the same
results, though.
