now, you _have_ to install a lot of bloat into the system unless you
want to spend hours customizing.
my suggestion, ubuntu server or debian.
Looking on the Centos5 distro I've got here, there's still a 'Base'
group, but it's marked as not being user visible. I bet that you could
hack it into a kickstart file on a floppy or USB stick and get the same
results, though.
