I sent this to a local RoR list but some of you will find it interesting:
I'm working on a Red Hat Linux system. I just compiled and installed the
new version of GNU Emacs (22.1). I also downloaded and installed a bunch
of Emacs modes and made everything work. Everything compiles nicely on
Linux but there were a few bugs to work out (more on that later).
I just thought you might like to see what the syntax highlighting looks
like in Ruby (.rb) and RHTML files. Here are two files and two
corresponding .png images of Emacs in action:
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/test_client.rb
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/emacs.png
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/login.rhtml
http://epirh1.epi.umn.edu/~mbmiller/emacs2.png
I would love to see what other editors look like when displaying those two
files. Or, if you have better files (and I'll bet you do because my RHTML
file is really a bunch of garbage!), I'll make screenshots of Emacs with
those files.
Mike
