The first "real" computer I owned (real = had a working C compiler)

This computer will have 16,000 times as much RAM, and, even with a
2002 era hard drive (120 GB), about 300,000 times as much disk space.
I remember working on my dual-floppy system (360 KB), saving a WordPerfect
4.0 file and seeing how little space it took up and thinking "man, I'll
never fill this disk -- it will hold 360,000 keystrokes!" It's funny that
our drives always seem big, but then we always find a way to fill that
space until they seem small.
Now that I know how that works, it's easy to see the future: Massive HD
movies at 20+ GB apiece. After that, probably 3D-HD taking twice the
space. Why not? We always find a way to fill anything. Before I die I
expect to be carrying around at least a petabyte on a little drive in my
pocket. Either that or I'll have immediate high-speed (1 Gbps or better)
access to a remote storage site from any device anywhere I go. I'm
thinking I'll live probably 30-40 more years.
