Ah; good point. We were planning on 1 GB, which should be fine for
Linux plus 256MB for the video card, right?

If you've got 1GB (same amount I ordered), you can go in the BIOS and allocate 256  for video leaving 768 for Linux to use.  I'd think that would be plenty.  It was pretty much my exact plan.  There's a warning in the manual that says that you can't allocate more than half your ram to video, so with 1 G, you can have max 512M. I got my RAM as 2 pieces of 512 MB DDR2 800 so that I could take advantage of the dual channel feature on the board. 

I don't actually know how this is all going to work out as I haven't received any of my hardware yet :(   But NewEgg sure does turn orders around quick.  I put it in Friday morning and it was already shipped that day.
