I second the nVidia choice...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122008
Have this in a Dell GX620 running Beryl perfectly.
Keep in mind that it is PCI-Express
Hope this helps,
George

As it happens, the possibilities seem to be pretty much infinite. For
all I know, you can get acceptable 3-D and GL performance out of one
of the Intel integrated graphics solutions, but it's not too easy to
find out whether this is true or not. Does anybody out there know of
any good solutions out there that are substantially better than
integrated graphics in the less than $150 range, or should I just not
bother optimizing this choice and instead just get a hideous
amount of
RAM? :-)

I cannot speak for the Intel solutions. But I am currently very
impressed by the nVidia drivers for Linux and FreeBSD. And if you
get something a little older, like their 5200 card, I think you can
easily meet your price range. I must admit that I don't know
Beryl, but with bzflag - a GL intensive game - it performs
brilliantly.
