Yikes upgrade from 2k to XP can cause problems with drivers. Touch pads also
tend to have software back ends that 2k will cling to and carry over into
your XP install...
What make and model of notebook?
Latitude D800. I wasn't *really* upgrading -- I reformatted the HDD
before installing WinXP. I don't trust the upgrade, especially when the
old OS was really flaky.
Have you tried an Ubuntu LiveCD? What you see on the LiveCD is
literally what you get on the install.
I should try it and see.
