I don't know what I'm missing, but I do know that even installing a Windows upgrade (to XP from 2000) made some things stop working until I got the right drivers: Specifically the mouse pad. I think there was something else too, but I don't remember.

Anyway, you want to be able to install Linux easily. You want everything to just work. Dell could help with this!
