I use EasyEclipse (http://www.easyeclipse.org). Can get prepackaged
confirmed working modules, installs in Windows, OSX, Linux.
For quick and dirty editing, I use vim, or pspad (in windows).
I really haven't done much with Eclipse, though. Tinkering around the
edges, really. But it's a nice interface, and I like that it's
cross-platform. And if you do any Java development, or are learning,
it's very handy to have around.
