The stanza:

  LoadFile /usr/lib/libxml2.so
  LoadModule proxy_html_module  /usr/lib/httpd/modules/ 
mod_proxy_html.so

Works fine for me...  Make sure the libxml2 packages are up-to-date.   
Don't know what else would break it.
