Well, for the record the sames things that are being said about Vista were said about XP. While many consumers were having issues with the 98 series of Windows, adoption in that arena moved along pretty quickly.

Those larger companies that have XP currently, will have software advantage that allows them to get Vista for no additional cost. They already paid for the upgrade when they purchased the original license. THe issue most companies are having, ours included, is the software packages used by business are not ready for a Vista move. In our case we are still using Visual Studio 2003 for a lot of stuff and that version does not work on Vista. This is just one of many such examples.

The same thing happened on the server arena when 2003 came out, but those issues have been corrected for the most part.

The old saying that you never upgrade until Service Pack 1 is still in effect. It will be that long before software venders are up to speed on Vista.
