| Nope, never had an issue like that. I also should mention, that how could it verify such authenticity for a non-drm file? Particularly since you can change the ID3 tags, etc. There's NO way to validate such information, realistically.
iTunes is a media manager, that can play AAC, MP3, and a number of other formats. It's just got automatic control of the iPod built in, so if you've got an iPod, you use iTunes to manage the media list on that iPod. I use it b/c it's easy to use, syncs automatically with little work, rips CD's easily, and overall is a pretty good media manager. I just don't use the iTunes store at all - I'll buy a CD and rip it to avoid DRM files.
In other words, use some common sense people. It's like saying iTunes will automatically format your drive if you don't call apple right now and tell them your social security number, where you were born, etc. This response to me is the same as an internet hoax spam mail. I am confused, you mean I can use Napster's service on an iPod? My impression was that if I wanted to buy online music, I had to buy it though iTunes, or I had to rip it from a purchased CD in MP3 format?
