Others have given lots of suggestions. Another interesting idea is to upload the data to Google Docs and Spreadsheets and then download it as csv or use their API to do stuff with it. Probably overkill for your purpose, although a neat feature is that you can share out data to many different people all over the place this way without hosting it yourself.

I remember that one gotcha with a lot of these solutions is their
weird treatment of macros. Which you might think wouldn't bother you
since you just want the csv data, but, man, there are some pretty
psychotic macros around here at NIH that do all sorts of things to the
data you actually see that you wouldn't expect.
