I want to be able to convert Excel to tab-delimited text (or comma
delimited) on my Solaris machine. I found one program that looks good
but I haven't been able to compile it on Solaris:

Best for me would be something portable, like something in perl.
Anybody know of such a thing?
Mike
This is what I found:
http://www.45.free.net/~vitus/software/catdoc/
http://chicago.sourceforge.net/xlhtml/
http://search.cpan.org/dist/Spreadsheet-ParseExcel/
Basically, look at http://www.freebsd.org/ports/textproc.html and search
for the word "excel".
