There are companies that specialize in thermal labels. They could
probably advise on expected lifetime. I don't think extreme cold is a
problem, but extreme heat obviously is! Maybe the polypropylene labels
would last longer than paper.
It looks like "nylon cloth" labels can handle -196°C to 90°C. That will
work! Now I just have to figure out which printers can print to these
labels.
