I guess my post was unclear. That would explain why this thread has been all over the place.
OK, here are some examples of what I mean:
Building a MythTV box is a "project"
Building a MAME/NES/SNES/Genesis/Playstation/Atari/Colecovision/C64/Lisa emulation box is a "project"
Building a digital audio production station is... you guessed it: a "project"
Tinkering around with cool FOSS software to do interesting and novel things for free... that's what I'm talking about.
