This is in the Gentoo documentation. An upgrade of gcc and glibc will
break many things--not only OpenOffice, although that may be the only
thing you've noticed so far.

Follow the directions in Section 2. In short, you need to re-emerge
everything to ensure consistency. You *might* be able to get away with
only re-emerging a program here and there, but I wouldn't put any money
on stability if you go that route.
