Hi all,

I have a little issue with Gentoo and OpenOffice 2.0.3. I recently upgraded my laptop from 2006.0 (x86) to 2006.1 and one of the things that was part of that change was GCC 4.1.1., up from 3.4.6. My CFLAGS are not too extreme; -02 -pipe -mfpmath=sse -ffast-math -fomit-frame-pointer -mmx -msse -msse2. I emerged system and world (and got a new kernel, 2.6.17-suspend2-r6) and when I rebooted, OpenOffice segfaulted immediately.

I looked on the Gentoo forums and others who got this problem solved it by removing the -ffast-math CFLAG and recompiling kdelibs and kdewindeco-styles. I did so and now I see the OO splash screen and it brings up a registration screen (as OO got bumped from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3) But it then crashes immediately again. I re-emerged all of KDE with the -ffast-math-less flag and it has the same behavior.

I am now out of ideas, and if anybody can help it would be appreciated. My desktop running the AMD64 version of Gentoo runs the same OpenOffice 2.0.3 32-bit binary with a whole lot more CFLAGS and no troubles whatsoever. I use KOffice on the laptop and while it's okay, I want OO back.

Phillip
