It sounds to me like a color saturation issue caused by a difference
between backlights on each monitor. You might check to see if you can
change the temperature of the light. In other words see if it has a
setting that allows you to set the screen to "cool", "neutral" or
"warm". Many LCDs and plasmas come with option. But then again I am
not seeing what you are seeing so I could be completely off too. :)

I was anxious to here your review on this new (at least new to me)
brand. I am personally a Samsung LCD fan and won't buy anything but
middle to high end Samsung. From a computer gamers standpoint it seems
to have good numbers for playing fast paced video games.

I am going to put together page that has detailed descriptions and
pricing for low, medium, and high end gaming systems and place it on my
gaming orgs website (http://maxxlan.org). Perhaps this might be a good
monitor to list with a low or medium end rig. How would you rank this
Hanns on a scale of 1 to 10?

I'll bet it is great, but it costs $700! I ordered this yesterday at
almost 5:00 pm local time and it was here before noon today:

Hanns*G HC-194D Black 19" 8ms LCD Monitor
http://www.pcconnection.com/ProductDetail?sku=6732798&srccode=cii_576617
9&cpncode=08-11504996-2

I put down $268 including overnight charges, but I'm supposed to get
back
$120 in rebates, so I'll pay $148 including S/H *overnight*! I'm using
it
right now as a second DVI monitor along with a $350 Viewsonic DVI. I
put
an image up on Firefox and I push it back and forth between the two
displays or split it down the middle between displays. The Hanns is
running at 1280x1024 and the Viewsonic is running at 1680x1050, so
images
look a little smaller on the Viewsonic. The Hanns is just great in this

digital mode. The text is beautifully sharp and colors are bright. The

difference is in photos: the Hanns display is not as good as the
Viewsonic with colors. The Hanns tends to be too brightly colorful. I
can't seem to adjust that. I don't know quite how to describe this
issue
in the images -- in some ways I like them better but I think the colors
are brighter than they are supposed to be. I will say that the Hanns
beats the Viewsonic on whites and grays because the Viewsonic is a
little
yellow and not quite as fully white as the Hanns. I don't see a single
dead pixel nor a single always-on pixel on the Hanns.

Of course, I don't know if it will still be working next year, but I
have
no reason to believe the Hanns will fail. My evaluation of the Hanns*G
HC-194D running from DVI input is that it is a *great* buy. I am very
surprised that it is possible to get this good of a monitor for this
kind
of money (only $109.95 after rebate and before S/H; TigerDirect has it
for
$150 after rebate and before S/H).
