Mike,
I liked the Linspire product for the reason the non-technical could use
it.  I got a $299 pc from TigerDirect with the Linspire package for my
SO's grandparents about 4 years ago and it is still ticking, although
they do ask why their kids say it isn't a real pc (microsoft drones).
All they use it for is email, surfing and some documents they keep on
there.  They back it up to an external hdd and are still using it while
Chris and Jane (uncle and aunt) have had 2 upgrades to their systems; if
70 year old people can use it, I figure anyone can figure it out.  They
also do the click and run yearly package (think that is what it is
called) so they can download games and stuff for their grandkids and
great-grandkids. Note:  They did have to have some help when they got
dsl last year.  Thank goodness for VNC...
