Last I asked my Mediacom contacts,
Mediacom does not allow any modems on their network other than the ones they
supply/rent. Although, that could just be their preference they were
telling rather than a hard set policy. As far as routers are concerned, I feel
that Netgear makes an excellent product. I am using one of their WiFi
G-band routers with the wifi doubling to 108mbps, as well as an expansion 24
port switch. Both have been running rock solid for almost 3 years now. From:
EMAIL:PROTECTED [mailto:EMAIL:PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris Topinka I'm having problems with the default login on my router. It's a
Linksys and a royal piece of crap. I'm looking for a stand alone cable
modem and seperate router that has decent performance. The Linksys drops
packets all the time - i.e. you can't have an idle ssh session for more than a
couple of minutes before it disconnects and now I can't seem to get it back to
the default login by pressing the reset button. |
