Well, in case anyone was wondering, I discovered last night that Phillip
is absolutely correct, ORiNOCO cards work just fine in Ubuntu Dapper. My
problem has been, for like forever, my *router* setup. I've been using
shared-key authentication along with WEP... it finally, finally dawned
on me (I'm such a noob) that "shared key" ain't "open". One check box on
the router, reboot, presto, all the cards I've been fiddling with work.
Where'd I put that 2x4? <bonk>
