MPlayer can play just about any video format (and bypass most DRM features). Usually better than the available Windows players - despite the fact that MPlayer uses the dlls from those players. Works as a browser plug-in although I still think playing video in the browser is annoying more often than not as are most plug-in content types. Maybe it'd be less annoying if the browser handled these filetypes itself. Plugins tend to make the browser crash a lot more often and have various weird glitches and they tend to make saving the content you're using more painful.
I thought some of you might like to comment on this...
