- Thread-topic: [MLUG] Multiboot DVD
Sorry, maybe I should clarify.. I'm not trying to make a " Live"
cd/dvd. What I want is to be able to choose from various
Os's that I want to install. So when I boot the DVD I have choices such
as this..
A)Install Win2k
B)Install WinXP w/SP 2 Slipstreamed
C)Install Fedora Core 4
D)Run Ultimate Boot CD 3.0
E)Boot from HD
X)Reboot
I've shrunk my Windows 2k and windows XP iso's down so both will fit on
one 700Meg CD so I have plenty of room to play with.

To make a bootable CD or DVD with Windows on it, you can use Bart's PE
Builder
(http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/) However, the site says that only XP and
Windows 2003 will work- however, you could probably try to use Windows
2000 as XP and 2000 are very similar. You do have to run the PE Builder
from within a Windows OS, though.
To make a multibootable Linux, have a gander at ISOLINUX
(http://syslinux.zytor.com/iso.php) It is the bootloader for an i386 El
Torito CD/DVD live CD and is the basis for almost all Linux live CDs.
You might be able to use ISOLINUX to boot the PE Builder off the same
DVD as ISOLINUX >= 1.65 supports booting other, non-Linux OSes off of
the same DVD as the Linux live system. Some tips for that are available
here:
http://www.zytor.com/pipermail/syslinux/2002-October/001135.html
I hope that this helps.
Phillip
