Subject: [MLUG - DISCUSSION] Open source desktop management softwares
Was looking into the possibility of open source desktop management
softwares and found several for hardware and software inventory and
whatnot, and found several more for managing software installs and
patching, and a few for a whole DM solution. Alas, this being state
government, it comes down to this:
Anyone here use any of the big 3 (Altiris, LanDesk, SMS)? Any insights
to be given? I found a white paper somewhere that the university uses
SMS. good? bad? indifferent?
Thanks,
Diana
