Running a GUI on a server will do that for you. It also takes up more
resources. A lot more resources. Most of the issues I've had over the
years has been the desktop stuff, not the things a server should use. I
would think that depending on how you set up the server would matter.
Think they set up all their Linux servers with the desktop stuff? Might
explain the difference. Just because it's there doesn't mean you should
install it. :-)
