have you tried
iwconfig commit
after setting the essid, key ,etc?

gives me the networks around. I even can set the essid but I cannot
get the encryption code to be taken. After each iwconfig key
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I do the iwconfig and it still gives "Encryption
key:off". the ifcfg-wlan0 seems OK.
Any Idea? It's driving me crasy.
