The Linux lab is in Engineering West 120/142, and there are 39 machines running Red Hat Enterprise 3 WS. They should be Red Hat 4 by the beginning of fall semester. The machines are currently not ready for use, but they should be by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I built the Linux-side of the Physics dual-boot machines, too. They were originally in the new Life Sciences building, but they weren't used at all. Dual-boot in a lab situation is almost unsupportable. I know I don't want anything to do with it ever again.

Very interesting. You are running a student lab with dual-core computers with
Linux on them? Where is this lab going to be because I would like to use it
when I am on campus! I like to use the Linux machines on campus, but there
are very few of them, and they are on East Campus- all the way across campus
from my classes. I know there are some dual-boot machines in Physics, but
those are generally occupied by people using XP on them :(

I also see that Linux support on ATI cards must be improving- the old Radeon
Mobility 9000 simply won't work with the fglrx drivers. (However the
open-source driver works fine.)
