What would Fedora be equivlent too in the red hat family? Say i wanted
to download and install a program that has Red Hat 6.x, 7.x, 8.0 and
Redhat 9 versions, which would i use to install on fedora (I do believe
it's Core 2)
Fedora IS from the RedHat family. Core 2 might be called RedHat 11 maybe. Fedora is mostly just a restructuring, as to the development control, and renaming for what we used to call RedHat Linux. RedHat Linux now usually refers to an enterprise version of RedHat.

Core 2 is pretty old these days. You'll probably have an easier time installing software if you upgrade to a newer version.
