This message just popped up when I loaded a MATLAB module on one of our
supercomputers:
Mathworks, Inc. has decided to drop support for
the AIX platform from Matlab. The final release
of matlab for AIX is still installed on the SP,
but it is unsupported and will eventually be removed.
Please run Matlab on a supported Linux, Solaris,
or Windows platform. Questions? email EMAIL:PROTECTED
I should add that the machine I was using is a 400+ CPU IBM SP
supercomputer running AIX. It was pretty amazing when it was purchased 6
years ago. Now it seems a bit slow though it has loads of memory and disk
space. It is soon to be replaced by a new IBM cluster that will run ...
you guessed it ... Linux!
