Apparently, according to the news reports, OS X is only going to work
on specially built hardware. Somehow, probably through using some
*gasp* proprietary technology, Intel is working with Apple to ensure
that the Apple OS only runs on specifically made Intel chips.

Now, I give it, what, 5 days before someone cracks the technology and
has an emulator of something that will bypass that feature. It took
less than 24 hours for them to bypass the Windows security measures,
so giving Steve Jobs and crew the benefit of the doubt, I would say 5
days.

Irregardless, the reason you might be interested is that if you bought
one of these machines, it is very likely you WILL be able to run
Windows in some dual boot configuration. Someone will have that
ability out within hours of the first Intel based Mac purchased.
Purchasing a Mac at that point would allow you to run the Apple OS for
those things you want that no one makes for Windows, like Final Cut
Pro, while still using Windows for productivity software, (provided
you currently use it). Of course Linux has always been and will
continue to be an option so you're not hurt there.

Initial reports said the price was going to come down, well maybe it
will but it seems Jobs is playing the "don't stop buying Macs" card by
not lowering the prices on the first Macs coming out. Of course my
information has come from a number of different locations and could be
incorrect.
