The solution was that I had another nic at home. This time it is a Linksys WUSB54g. It has the Prism chipset, but of course would not work with ndiswrapper. So I am using Linuxants Driverloader.

Could you post a quick and dirty how-to? I've got one of these I'd like to use on my linux boxen but hadn't had much luck in the past.
