I think that Torvalds is so revered among Linux users that even his comments (not meant for public consumption) are treated as gospel. I don't think this was a comment to be taken very seriously- it sure sounds like a rant to me.

I think he just wanted to tell the Gnome developers that he didn't like what they were doing and he wanted to push them to improve configurability.



I use Gnome because it seems much less clunky than KDE and my favorite apps (Firefox, the Gimp, Evolution) are GTK+ apps and look a WHOLE heck of a lot better in Gnome than in KDE.

That's an interesting comment. What about them looks different? Are some of you other MLUGers seeing this too?
