Hello All,

I'm glad this list is back online. I'm hoping to find someone local to take this over if possible.

I've been maintaining a small linux server in Columbia for a non-profit for several years. I'm on the east coast and have been managing the server remotely.

Currently we're looking for someone to take over to provide more local support.

Here are some of the details. Please contact me off list if you are interested. Feel free to pass this around to other lists.

The Linux Server has these services to maintain/improve:

Apache
Postfix/courier-imap/webmail
Spam Filtering
Squid
Samba
Shorewall
ssh
dhcpd

It also interfaces with about 12 computers with WinXP and NAV. You'd be working with one main person, and supporting 12-15 users on the system.

It is very easy to maintain remotely but we're looking for someone local to Columbia that can stop by once in a while to get Samba running well and reliably.

This would be a great job for someone that needs some Linux experience. The software setup is not that complex but could use a lot of improvement. They also need assistance in making modest updates to their web site from time to time.

This is mostly a volunteer job, but would have some compensation, most likely determined by the amount of work needed to be completed. Once improvements are made to the network, maintaining the software is easy maybe 1-2 hours a month. Our last uptime was close to a year, and the internal network setup is stable.

Please let me know if you are interested and I can give you more details.

Thanks!

Bob Avery-Babel
